Here at Wellington Boots Nursery we aim for children to be confident, independent and emotionally secure. We offer a stimulating environment that provokes curiosity, creativity and exploration which allows the practitioners to observe the children in their play and find teachable moments to extend their learning.
All children are cared for and educated to reach their full potential, in a welcoming home from home environment. Children with Individual Needs are supported from day one in the setting according to their individual requirements.
Each child’s needs are unique, our free flow to the outdoors environment allows the children the freedom to make choices within their learning.
Our accessible environment provides children with the ability to choose their resources and explore the way in which to use them.
We hold huge value to the natural environment; this reflects within the ethos of our setting.
Flexible routines help your child to gain a sense of order in the world and to anticipate events. Our baby room creates a safe and interesting environment, with age-appropriate resources that help them develop curiosity and coordination as they become more mobile - all the while aided and encouraged by our staff.
Importantly, we encourage little ones to start to learn the beginnings of self control and how to relate to other people, developing social and mental skills with people they have a positive attachment to.
In our toddler room your child will increase their interest in joint play such as make-believe, construction and games to learn the important social skills of sharing and cooperating. They will also learn more about helping adults in everyday activities and finding a balance between independence and complying with the wishes of others.
Our pre-school room provides your child with an opportunity to build a stronger sense of their own identity and their place in a wider world. The main focus remains on learning through creativity and play.
We also teach and emphasise the value of care and concern for others, respect for cultural diversity and ourselves. Literacy, problem solving, reasoning and numeracy skills will continue to develop as well as and understanding of cause and effect.

At Wellington Boots Nursery we believe that healthy children are happy children. That is why our on-site cook uses the finest ingredients to provide nutritionally balanced menus with no added salt or sugar for all our children.
Our menus are changed twice a year and are based around seasonal fruit and vegetables, ensuring children get their recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. Menus are displayed in the nursery.
Delicious and nutritious…
We have a five weekly rota. We ensure that all food served is both delicious and nutritious and aim to introduce a wide range of foods in a no-fuss way so that your child will be able to try something new to eat on a regular basis.
Eating together…
Our meal times are social occasions with children eating together and sharing an important part of their day.
Snacks usually include fresh fruit or raw vegetables with milk or water being served as an accompanying drink. In addition, fresh drinking water is available to children throughout the day.
Children may access some or all of their funded entitlement with us. Children attending 2 settings will have their 15/30 hours split between the settings.
Where the extended 15-hour entitlement is taken, a decision about which hours go to which setting needs to be made and indicated on our Flexible Funding Agreement.
Our funding is offered as Just 15/30 or Flexible 15/30, depending on your overall childcare requirements
